Annelies van de Waarsenburg—nicknamed Piepje—is a singer who has more than earned her stripes in numerous semi-professional bands both in and outside Zeeland.

And behold: the AnnLies Bluesband was born. A shockwave went through Goes. At least, in the music room on Van Dusseldorpstraat and the surrounding houses. Not long after, it turned out to be quite possible to book performances.

Cafés such as the Concurrent in Vlissingen, the Post in Goes, and rural venues in Zuid-Beveland and Schouwen-Duiveland were respectfully rocked, with a mix of authentic blues (Red Devils, Muddy Waters, Freddie King), soul (Janis Joplin, Etta James), blues rock (Allman Brothers, Johnny Mastro), and more of that kind.

They will open the festival with a big bang!
